The blog post in which we get a letter…

We got a letter! Actually, it was an email, but it amounts to the same thing. We won’t embarass the very very nice person who wrote it to us by naming them, we’ll just share it with you to let you know how much we enjoy doing what we do.

Peter (and, indeed, Fr Simon, who I hope you can share this with)…

Just wanted to say a big “Thank you!” for Twurchcast 8 which was truly inspiring. One of the things that upsets me most about our church is those of different traditions labelling each other and using those insults as almost a form of insult. Yes, it hurts me when I’m described as a “liberal anglocatholic” as if that is a term of abuse suggesting that my faith is somehow not just maybe not as good as that of the person labelling me, but altogether deficient; and equally, I get very upset when I hear people use the term “evangelical” and “charismatic” disparagingly.

So… how refreshing to hear the two of you, from such wildly different backgrounds, clearly taking great delight in discussing what *each* of you brings to our one, true, catholic (with a small ‘c’), universal church – and realising that each of us has our own route by which we come to God and that what is less important than how we do it is that we do it at all.

Simon – I might well have come back to God far earlier if my parish had been as dynamic as yours. Peter – I enjoy your blog and in particular, the infectious enthusiasm you have for everyone you interview here on the Twurchcast.

God bless, and thank you once again

If any of you other readers want to engage in some TwurchLove, you just let us know.
